Deborah began painting and drawing in high school, and after working as an RN and raising four children, began fueling her artistic passions again. She has worked in several types of art media including oil, acrylic and mixed media, however, did not begin formal watercolor instruction until 2010, learning from Judy Patti and Colleen Nelson.
Since then she has been fortunate to take art workshops from nationally known artists including Susan Blackwood, Howard Friedland, Pat Weaver, Stan Miller and Frank Francese. In 2011, she received First Place for Fine Art painting at the Colorado Children’s Hospital art show, and in 2018 her work was displayed at the Winter Park Art Affair.
Deborah studied with Susan Blackwood and Howard Friedland in Venice, learning the techniques of Plein Air painting.
“I am inspired by the way art can speak to your heart and the magic that can happen when painting. I am constantly learning and striving to be creative.”
